Master Bath Inspiration Photos

I admit to getting a little off-track here. Zuniga Interiors had designed our Oakton house master bedroom with a bit of a British Colonial vibe. We will be using that furniture in our River house; so I was still thinking British Colonial. And I shouldn't have been. Each design decision you make eliminates many others if you want to keep the overall look and feel cohesive. These are favorite bathrooms that would work in a coastal home.

Den Built-ins

At the front of the house off the foyer is a room that on the original plans was a formal dining room which was open to the great room. A formal dining area doesn't suit our style of entertaining so we walled the room off, separating it from the great room. We plan to use it as a small den for watching television in the evenings. Along one wall will be built-in cabinets because you can never have enough bookcases and storage space. It will also house Pete's big TV. The cabinet supplier and I went back and forth on the design more than a few times, but this is the end result. Den built-in elevation drawing. Great Room Fireplace: Take 2

I wanted the fireplace in the Great Room to look like this, except with Walker Zanger Duquesa Catarina ceramic tile in Aqua instead of a marble surround. Courtesy of Southern Living However the Duquesa Catarina tile is 4-5/8" square and requires four tiles to complete the design. So we would need the surround to be at least 9-1/4" wide with a smidge more for grout. Instead, we will be eliminating the wood trim and adding a third row of tile, which is the fireplace Zuniga Interiors had proposed all along. A New Look for the Cooper Cubes

We purchased these Cooper Upholstered Cubes from Ballard Designs for the sunroom in our Oakton house and had them reupholstered in a Gabrielle Chambray, a fabric exclusive to Ballard Designs that had been discontinued before I made the decision.
