Master Bedroom Drapes Dither

As you may recall we had part of the window treatments for the master bedroom installed earlier this month. I still want to order draperies and am now in a dither. Zuniga Interiors provided a few options assuming that the room would be painted a custom Sherwin Williams mix to match Magnolia Home's Pearly Cotton except the bed wall which Zuniga wanted to be Aquitaine -- the same color as our den built-in cabinets. I was naughty and didn't follow instructions and instead painted the entire room Sherwin Williams Billowy Breeze.

So what does that insubordination do to the drapery fabric options?

The top right fabric is Kravet Basics Haleiwa-135 and it was my initial favorite. The bottom right fabric is Charlotte Moss Rohan Watercolor and it was Zuniga Interiors favorite. But then I had two throw pillows and the pantry sink skirt done in Master Fabric Imperatrice-022 and I like it much more than I did from the sample. Now I am thinking about using it in the master bedroom and the Kravet fabric in the kitchen.

Den Built-ins

At the front of the house off the foyer is a room that on the original plans was a formal dining room which was open to the great room. A formal dining area doesn't suit our style of entertaining so we walled the room off, separating it from the great room. We plan to use it as a small den for watching television in the evenings. Along one wall will be built-in cabinets because you can never have enough bookcases and storage space. It will also house Pete's big TV. Selecting the House Plan

He and Mom were inveterate remodelers of every house in which they lived. (I got those genes.) Selecting an Interior Designer

No longer should designers be able to charge exorbitant prices for furniture, art and other decorative items that can be purchased online. Now, buying services provide access to private label goods and to-the-trade-only items. Designers who offer e-decorating services have learned to adapt. After trying a few other interior designers with different business models, I've learned I like using e-decorating services. It lets me be more involved and finish a room at my own pace. So I stuck with what works when choosing an interior designer for our river house.
